 | VINTAGE WWI L F & C CUSTOMIZED 1917 TRENCH KNIFE & CUSTOM LEATHER SHEATHAdditional Item Images Very nice old vintage LANDERS FRAY & CLARK WWI trench fighting knife. Made in U.S.A. I purchased this knife from a collection. It had a makeshift stag handle on it that was in bad condition. Since the guard and knuckles and blade were in such great conditionI decided to have a custom handle put on the knife. I got a knifemaker friend to do the job. He did a fantastic job and created a great knife. He had some vintage brown micarta that is no longer made and made the handle with it. He used 2 halves of the micarta (seam is on the underneath side) then pinned the handle with 6 stainless pins to the tang. A perfect fit. He put in 4 finger grooves and the handle is very comfortable. The rest of the knife is original. 7 Pyramid points make up the knuckle handle and guard A nice deep U.S.L.F.& C. 1917 stamp on the underneath side of guard. Bright triangular shape blade is in great condition. The wood handle is in excellent condition the D guard is also complete and still has most of the original black finish.
