A very nice vintage Western made W 49 bowie knife and original leather sheath. Used Western knives was located in Longmont Colorado. They went out of business in the 80's.

This is Western's popular W49 Bowie knife. This knife is much better quality than the Western's of today. The name was purchased several years ago.

Many of these were carried by our troops in Viet Nam. Possibly even this one.

Walnut scales held on with 3 small pins. These small pins and the stamping on the guard indicate the knife was probably made in the 60's or early 70"s. They went to rosewood handles, larger pins and stamped the blade on the later knives.

The blade has some pitting and light scratches. brass "S" guard. The guard is stamped Western Boulder, Colo USA on one side and BOWIE stamped on the other side of the guard

14.75" OAL, 9.25" Clip Blade, 3/16" thick

Original western leather sheath in very good condition.
